Code of Conduct for Regatta Participants

Everyone who participates in {REGATTA NAME} has the right to a positive and enjoyable experience of sport in a safe environment. {ORGANIZATION} acknowledges it’s duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of all individuals involved within {REGATTA NAME} .

Harassment or unsportsmanlike behavior at any {REGATTA NAME} -conducted events of any kind is not tolerated. We first encourage participants to address misconduct as it is seen. Anyone may also report anonymously violations they experience or witness at safesail.org - where reports will be forwarded to Race Organizers automatically.

Reported violations of this policy will result in {ORGANIZATION} taking appropriate action that can include but not limited to verbal warnings to offenders or referral to International Jury for breaking Rule 69.1(a), World Sailing, National Governing Body, and local law enforcement authorities. 

As a regatta participant, you are expected to:

  • Behave in a respectful and friendly manner to all people attending the regatta. 
  • Treat all regatta attendees fairly, regardless of gender, ethnicity, race, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, faith or expression. 
  • Refrain from any offensive speech or inappropriate actions which are derogatory, insulting, harassing, or otherwise deemed abusive.
  • Address any witnessed behavior either directly to offending parties or indirectly via safesail.org
